Request Manager and Assets integration

Software dashboard showing the details of a closed work order for preventive maintenance in a conference room, including a floor plan, timeline, and requestor information.

From request to resolution in one workflow

Facilities requests submitted in Workplaces now become work orders in Assets, with the location attached and the asset linked. Status flows back on its own, and the request closes itself when the job is done.

How it works
  1. Report it. An employee submits a request and drops a pin or uses their seat. They don’t need to know which unit is broken.
  2. Route it. The request goes straight to your maintenance team, or a request manager reviews it first. You choose, per request type.
  3. Fix it. The technician sees the location, links the right asset, and does the work.
  4. Close it. The request closes itself, the employee is notified, and the repair goes into the asset’s work order history.
What’s in the release

Routing for each request type. Send urgent types straight to the work order queue and have everything else reviewed first. Several request types can map to the same work order type.

An asset picker filtered to the floor. Add an optional or required asset field to the request form, choose who sees it, and show only the assets on the floor the requester picked.

Pending until the asset is linked. If the requester doesn’t know the asset, the work order is held until a technician links the right one, so the asset record stays accurate.

Two-way sync. The request’s type, description, due date, requester, location and attachments carry into the work order. Due date, description, assignee, status and the linked asset flow back. If the request is reopened, the same work order reopens.

Notifications without duplicates. Requesters and assignees are notified when a work order is created and when its status changes, and links on each record take you between Request Manager and Assets.

Reporting from one record. Filter Request Statistics to asset-linked requests, and see how many work orders came from requests on the Work Order Status Report.
